"Big Dream" Anne Louise's second release on Caribou Records, is an alchemist's brew of the best of roots, folk, and old tyme. Produced by Juno award winner and triple nominee Bob Hamilton, Big Dream features Anne Louise on guitar and vocals. Along with Hamilton, guest artists such as Calvin Vollrath, Mark Thibeault, and Kim Barlow give every song just the right touch of bass, dobro, fiddle, harmony, and twang.

Drawing on traditional narrative country and deep bluesy roots music, Big Dream showcases Anne Louise's ability to shine her light on the shadowed moments that leave bruises on us all, detail by wrenching detail. In the next breath, she shares stories and images that give hope and, like the best music, provide us with a form of companionship and comfort. these songs are poignant vignettes that reach beyond their northern roots, with hooks and gems to capture us all.

Anne Louise's first album "Trouble":

TROUBLE features Anne Louise Genest on guitar and vocals, beautifully supported by guest artists such as Nathan Tinkham on dobro, guitar, and lap steel, Bob Hamilton on mandolin, Calvin Vollrath on fiddle, and Kim Barlow on backup vocals. Produced by Bob Hamilton, Trouble explores a wide range of material, always placing the human experience front and centre.

The title track is a haunting tale with an ominous backwoods hillbilly feel, and we move from there into stories of awakening sexuality, road trips, and heartfelt testimonials to the strength of the human spirit. The texture of instrumentation includes an ancient sounding harmonium, electric guitar with a menacing twang, sweet mandolin, and innovative percussion. These blend wonderfully with Genest's passionate voice and gift for songwriting to transport us into her world of dusty back roads, naugahyde-filled basements, and haunted houses.
