TOUR INFO AND NEWS
MAY 3, 2005
Happy Spring Everyone! I recently returned from my spring tour with Bob Hamilton and Matt King - we hit all four Western provinces and not one snowstorm. Our biggest challenge was squishing three big Yukoners into one tiny hotel room. Big big thanks to all the presenters and helpers, to our friends who put us up, and huge thanks to everyone who came out to the shows - it was great to see you out, and thanks for buying all those CD's!
I'm heading out again this summer for the whole month of July. This will be a special tour as I will be on the road with Hungry Hill, an outstanding bluegrass unit based out of Whitehorse and Smithers, BC. My stalwart stage companions Bob and Matt also play with Hungry Hill, whose other members include Jenny Lester, Mark Thibeault, and Gary Markley. Check out www.hungryhill.ca for more info on these guys. Both acts are booked at the Vancouver Island Musicfest and the Calgary Folk Festival, so we'll be hitting a bunch of points in between.Tour dates are listed below, with more bookings to come. Come on out for a great night of music with two awesome bands - we'll take you down into the valley and back up into the hills.

A long with fourteen other independent Canadian artists, I have been selected to appear on the Dig Your Roots compilation CD. The song they chose is “Paradise Road” (on the album Big Dream). Dig Your Roots is a Canadian talent development initiative coordinated by the National Campus and Community Radio Association/l’Association Nationale des Radios Etudiantes et Communautaires (NCRA/ANREC), with funding provided by Corus Entertainment Inc. The project aims to promote Canadian artists specializing in musical genres that are under-represented in the commercial radio sector. The CD will be released March 1, 2005, and will be followed by national concerts in five locations throughout the country from March 18-26. Each show will be broadcast live nationally on participating campus and community radio stations. I will be playing at the Pacific/North show in Nelson, BC on March 18th, 2005. I’ll be heading down there with trusty Bob Hamilton who will add his pipes, his Rayco resophonic guitar, and Muth mandolin to the performance.
