November is a busy month finding Kim Barlow on tour, driving across the prairies then jetting out to Ontario and Quebec for the promotional release tour of luckyburden, her latest collection of songs all about Keno City, a near abandoned silver mining town in central Yukon.

Bob Hamilton, producer/musician/engineer hardly found time to go fishing in Haines this fall as Old Crow Recording studio is superbusy. Following the recording of Barlow he is now mixing a new album, Streetcar Heart for Kim Beggs, a new artist for Caribou Records.
Anne Louise Genest’s album Big Dream is getting great reviews from Europe and she can be found on the SOCAN website this month as featured artist! Anne Louise was selected to showcase at Rendezvous Folk in Halifax November 18-21, 2004. She will be appearing with Bob Hamilton and Matt King.

Kim Barlow is on a cross Canada tour November 2-22, 2004 promoting luckyburden her much anticipated follow up to the Juno-nominated, Gingerbread. luckyburden is a collection of songs reflecting the experience of people who immigrated from all around the world to work in the silver mining town of Keno City. Located in central Yukon and perched high on a mountain in the Gustavus Range, 400 km north of Whitehorse, Keno City was the center of silver mining activity in the Yukon from 1914-1989 when the mine was closed and the town was written down for extraction.
A promotional tour is planned for March 2005 in Australia. More details to follow.
Late spring will see Kim Barlow reaching out to other mining communities in northern Ontario to present luckyburden and the Keno City Project companion film piece in performance.
Anne Louise Genest is currently planning a late winter tour to BC, Alberta and across the Prairies. More details to follow.

Kim Beggs
Caribou Records is pleased to introduce Kim Beggs. Her 6 song pre-release demo called Beautiful garnered Beggs a showcase performance slot at the OCFF, and the critics loved her! References to Iris Dement and Lucinda Williams abound. She is currently wrapping up production of her full-length album entitled Streetcar Heart. This CD will be released at the Yukon Arts Centre on December 15, 2004 in Whitehorse, Yukon.
Congratulations to Anne Louise Genest for her official selection as a showcase artist at this year’s Rendezvous Folk Conference. Presented in association with MIANS, (music industry association of nova scotia), the conference will take place November 18-21 in Halifax, NS. Anne Louise will be joined on stage by Bob Hamilton on dobro and mandolin and Matt King on upright bass.
